Paleo Plus is the next generation of raw dog food….
Another fantastic addition to the single-protein range. Pork is a great meat and Paleo Ridge pork is all reared outdoors, as happy pigs makes for healthier meat. Containing lots of pork meat, this product boasts an awesome range of organ contents too (liver, heart, kidney, lung and pancreas) whilst also including trachea. While many pork-based products are quite fatty, that does depend on the cuts you use. With this product the clever people at Paleo Ridge wanted to keep it as lean and as ‘Paleo’ as possible, a sign of how much meat muscle is included here. They have also added a few Granny Smith apples to make this a mouth-watering mix that your dog is sure to love!
The Berry Good Mix includes:
Green Lipped Mussels – known to contain several nutrients including omega-3 fatty acids, chondroitin, glutamine, vitamins C and E and antioxidant micronutrients that help support dogs with joint problems and mobility issues.
Organic Hemp Seed Powder – packed with an impressive multitude of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin E, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc and B vitamins as well as omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids that can help reduce the chance of cancer, reduce joint pain and inflammation, strengthen the immune system, support healthy organ and brain function as well as reduce blood pressure and the risk of heart disease.
Blackberries – incredibly nutritious and packed full of vitamins and minerals, including the harder to find vitamins C and K as well as vitamin A, E and a range of B vitamins. We can also find minerals such as copper, manganese, magnesium and potassium and other nutrients like folic acid in blackberries. The antioxidant properties of blackberries are thought to help protect against aging, cancer, inflammation and other neurological diseases. Unlike other fruits, they don’t elevate blood sugars. They are also a great source of soluble and insoluble fibre.
Kale – rich in B vitamins, vitamin C and vitamin E which are important antioxidants needed to help support the immune system. Also rich in vitamin K which is needed to help wounds heal properly. The minerals found in kale are plentiful: potassium to support effective heart function, calcium for strong bones and teeth, magnesium for good hormone health and selenium which supports the immune system. Kale is also high in antioxidants, helping to counteract oxidant damage – believed to be one of the leading drivers of aging and many diseases, including cancer.
Blueberries – packed with iron, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc and vitamin K. Each of these is a component of bone. Adequate intake of these vitamins and minerals contributes to building and maintaining bone structure and strength. Blueberries also contain antioxidants helping to fight oxidant damage caused by free radicals responsible for cellular and molecular damage. Studies show that adding antioxidants to a dog’s diet reduces the effect of brain aging – which is great if you have a senior dog!
Broccoli – a great source of fibre and protein, broccoli also contains iron, potassium, calcium, selenium and magnesium as well the vitamins A, C, E, K and a good array of B vitamins including folic acid. Broccoli is rich in glucosinolates which are broken down into biologically active compounds that have anti-cancer properties. These compounds protect cells from DNA damage, make carcinogens inactive, induce cell death in tumours, prevent tumour blood vessels from forming and provide anti-inflammatory effects.
Seaweed – rich in minerals and containing vitamins A, B, E, D and K, seaweed is also a source of iodine which helps promote thyroid function and can benefit animals who suffer from hypothyroidism. Seaweed is ideal for balancing glandular functioning in dogs and also helps maintain healthy skin and a shiny coat as well as enhancing energy levels and the immune system. Some studies have shown that seaweed may be helpful in reducing cancer.
